چکیده
The levels of cadmium (Cd) in soil and commonly consumed tomato (Lycopersicon csculentum Miller) fruits grown around the industrial areas Dhaka Narsingdi districts Bangladesh were quantified compared with FAO/WHO (2003)safety limits. According to findings, order Cd concentration soils was found Textile > Pharmaceutical Tannary industry. (mg/l) ranged from 0.24 0.91 0.15 0.74, respectively. Except Tannery industry exceeded premise limit proposed by joint FAO/WHO. In all sites, bioconcentration factor (BCF) for this heavy metal tomatoes be below 1, a sign low uptake metals soil. Results suggest that consumption these might cause health risk consumers. J. Bot. 51(4): 729-736, 2022 (December)

Proteomic analysis of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) pollen.
In flowering plants, pollen grains are produced in the anther and released to the external environment with the primary function of delivering sperm cells to the female gametophyte. This study was conducted to identify proteins in tomato pollen and to analyse their roles in relation to pollen function. Tomato is an important crop which is grown worldwide and is an excellent experimental system....
متن کاملIn vitro flowering and fruiting in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)
In vitro flowering and fruiting were induced in plants regenerated from calli of leaf explants of Lycopersicon esculentum var. Pant 11. MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/l BAP displayed the best response followed by MS with 2 mg/l BAP, 1 mg/ l ABA and 0.5 mg/l IAA. Flower buds were developed both directly from callus and regenerated plantlets from leaf explants under 16 h (39.3 μmol m-2s-1) phot...
متن کاملEffect of Post Harest Treatments on Changes in Sugar and Lycopene Content of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum)
The present investigation aimed to evaluating the combined effect of post harvest treatments, packaging and storage conditions on the changes in sugars and lycopene content of tomato. Tomato fruits with stalk and without stalk were harvested at breaker stage and subjected for shelf life studies. The fruits with best harvesting method (fruits with stalk) were treated with chlorine by first dippi...
متن کاملComparison of carotenoid content, gene expression and enzyme levels in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) leaves.
Physiological conditions which lead to changes in total carotenoid content in tomato plantlets were identified. Carotenoid levels were found to increase after the onset of a dark period during a normal 24 h cycle. This rapid initial increase is followed by a steady decrease in carotenoid content throughout the night. A decrease in the expression of several carotenogenic genes, namely pds, zds (...
متن کاملTissue Culture Studies in Tomato (lycopersicon Esculentum) Var. Moneymaker
A protocol was developed for callus induction and regeneration in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) var. Moneymaker. Hypocotyl and leaf disc explants of tomato were used as a starting material for callus induction. Explants were cultured on MS medium having different concentrations of hormones. Maximum callogenesis from hypocotyls was obtained on MS medium supplemented with IAA (2 mg/l), NAA (2 ...
